Post 18: ireland

December 26, 2023

I miss Ireland. The first time I visited Dublin, I was floored by the love I felt from the Irish. I will never forget the moment I looked out over the city and thought, “I will live here one day.” And two years later, I did.

I miss Guinness, Smithwick’s, Orchard Thieves, and Bulmer’s.

I miss the grey skies.

I miss the variable weather.

I miss the kind faces and everyone seemingly being on the same page.

I miss the afternoon pints.

I miss the buildings encapsulated by vines.

I miss the slainte.

I want someone to give me a Claddagh ring.

I miss the feeling of being on a tiny rock stuck in the tumultuous ocean—but I suppose we can apply this feeling anywhere, at any time, which is cool (and scary).

I can’t wait to go back.

This post was minimally cohesive and, I admit, kind of sucked. I’m going to write a lot more about Ireland one day.
