Post 20: 23 lessons & loves from 2023
January 1, 2024
Happy new year (:
unforgiveness hurts you, not them—you can forgive and not seek reconciliation
finding a genuine compassion for those who hurt you is extremely freeing
I tried Stella Artois for the first time, it’s fantastic
I rode in (and leapt from) a helicopter for the first time, it was incredible
I started running again, and was reminded how much I love it
it is okay to simply walk away—literally, you can leave (most, if not all) a situation at any given moment. Irish goodbye that shit to the MAX
stress absolutely destroys your body
it is not your job to fix someone; you are not “giving up”
people who want to be there for you, will be there for you; the people who are meant to be in your life, will be
I have the absolute best support system (I could cry thinking of them)
there is true evil in the world (which I knew, but was reminded of tenfold)
it is necessary to be vulnerable, while also guarding your heart
it is critical to know The Word; to be able to decipher between Truth and deception
trust your gut—I believe if you’ve invited Jesus into your life, your “gut” is the Spirit
you can do it anxious
it’s not selfish to stick up for yourself, love yourself, or place precedence on your needs
there are bad and manipulative people in the world, trust God with your identity
never give someone the power to make you feel worthless…or worthy—let God define you…and realize that God defines others—God loves us all
the Book of Revelation wasn’t written for us to shelter in fear, but to build bigger tables and invite as many people to sit with us as possible
growing pains will happen for the rest of your life
there can be so much beauty in the ending—ask God to help you see it
stop falling for the potential in a partner—open your eyes to the now
Jesus is all you will ever need
whyiscchappy? everything I have learned and will come to learn.
